Is it me just having these problems with the HBL2350?
Do I have a faulty unit? Should I send it back?

It is not uncommon for users to struggle with brushless motors. Eventually things work most of the time.
Let\'s first narrow down the problem

Yes, good idea.
Although, Brushless motors aren\'t exactly rocket science.
Infact we are seriously considering developing out own driver hardware and software, I only bought the roboteq for quick developement.
Problem 1 - Lets try and solve this....
HBL2350 with latest software 1.2 (14 August 2011)
NOT using Roborun software, just hyperterminal.
Turn on motor with factory presets loaded.
Controller does NOT respond to !M commands.
send ~PWMF
This is only quering the values NOT changing them.
Only after I have sent that command will the controller repond to !M commands.
Please, can sombody try this on an HBL2350.
The important thing is, you must NOT use the Roborun software it has to be a fresh power on connected to hyperterminal.
Many Thanks

Great, the latest version of software (dated 10/19/11) seems to have fixed this problem and a few others I was having. Thankyou very much.
