Direct Serial I/O using TTL Levels was created by edparker
In my current SDC2130 based system I have installed RS232 level shifters between the Serial I/O and my Arduino \"master controller\". Now I have noticed that there are dedicated pins on the 15 pin connector labeled, (6) TTL Serial TxD and (7) TTL RxD. Can I simply remove the level shifters and use these pins instead?

Yes.
Note that going from TTL to RS232 is not just about shifting levels from 0/5V to -12V/+12V. It also involves inverting the signal.
This inverting is not needed if you use the TTL serial port of the SDC2130

Luckily, my home made level shift circuit does invert the signals. However, sounds like the 6 & 7 pins on the SDC2130 are direct connection and do not require shifting or inverting, great!
BTW, the only mention of this feature is in the datasheet feature list and on the DIN connector diagram. Newbies like me would benefit from extra \"explanations\" in the manual narrative.
