Problem with saving the closed loop position mode on SDC controller

Hi I have a problem. When I set my SDC controller to closed loop speed then save it to the controller, the motor moves unexpectedly. Here\'s a sample scenario in roborun
1. I use the controller in open loop mode and it works fine
2. then on configuration tab i set my controller to closed loop position.
3. when i click on save to controller, it sends voltages to the motor and moves it unexpectedly without me doing anything.
another thing, my controller keeps on disconnecting at random intervals (using USB)
Please help i need this for my project in school.
Thanks

When you save to controller, it immediately switches to closed loop and applies a command of 0. Depending what is being sensed at the time, it is normal that the motor would energized in order to reach that 0.
There can be other similar issues based on the command and feedback states at the time of the change.
Pls look for the Forum thread on USB disconnect and install the posted firmware. It helps the USB connection problem and it also has an improvement on the closed/open loop switching.

ok thanks. I solved my problem. my PID settings also part of the culprit here because it made my motor oscillate and move wildly
