HELP - Computer does not recognize SDC controller anymore

11 years 7 months ago #29526345 by JAm1
Hi, im having problems with my sdc controller. My computer cannot read it anymore. When I plug it in via the usb the computer gives a message \"USB Device not recognized\" over and over again. The status led blinks very fast then blinks the USB LED in a 1 second interval. When I try it via serial it also doesn\'t seem to recognize the controller.

I\'m trying to force it to go to the DFU mode via connecting pins 2 and 6 in the 8 pin header thinking that i may have a messed up firmware but it still does not work. It detects the controller in DFU mode when i checked the device manager (it appears as STM32 DFU in the device manager) but it says that the drivers are not installed.

Please help. Is there a possibility that my controller is damaged?

Open the windows device manager and try force reinstall of the driver. If possible, try another PC and different USB cable

It may be difficult for me to try and force install the driver in the windows device manager because the device somehow connects and disconnect in a repeated manner (that is why the pc gives me a repeated message of \"USB device not recognized\".

I also tried to read the serial port from the device. it gives me an infinite loop of \"starting...\"

Any ideas? Ill try a different computer later

The repeated \"starting\" means that the controller firmware crashes immediatly after it is done booting.

This means the firmware did not properly instal, or that you have installed the firmware of a different controller model.

Try reinstalling the firmware
