MDC2460: MOSFail LED is turned on Roborun+ was created by isoboy
Hi there
I am setting up a new Roboteq MDC2460S controller and I realised the MOSFail LED is turned on. Is this something I should be concerned about? I have attached a screenshot of the error. The DC motor seems to spin nicely though.

One other thing I noticed that might be related is that the step response seems quite delayed. There seems to be a slight delay before the motor starts picking up speed. I have changed the Speed & Acceleration settings to the following:
Max Speed: 30000(max)
Acceleration: 50000(max)
Decceleration: 50000(max)
That seemed to have improved the response slightly, but the rise time still lagged behind.
[screenshot link]
Has anyone encountered the same issue? I'd appreciate it if you were to share your experience and knowledge with me.
Thanks & regards,
Ang

The mosfail error will come up depending on what is going on with the motor output. This will all go back to the configurations settings and other things. Unless an output stage is damaged, resetting the controller or power cycling the controller will cause this error to go away.
Is this in open loop mode mode or a closed loop mode?

Check that no current is measured when the motor command is 0 in open loop mode.
If no current is measured, Mosfail should not be on.

Hi Griffin,
Thanks. It turned out that restarting the Roboteq made the MOSFail error go away.
I am running in open mode, and there's no current when motor is stationary.
