MDC2230 dead

Hi,

I made a mistake using a MDC2230 motor controller.

My motor controller was working in "Close Loop Tracking Mode" and last order was "Go to 0,0". When the motor arrived at this position, it was stopped.

In this moment, I changed the power motor sending !VAR 5 50. My script recived this value and executed:

if (getValue(_VAR,5) <> 0 )
setConfig(_MXPF, 1, getValue(_VAR,5))
setConfig(_MXPR, 1, getValue(_VAR,5))
setValue(_VAR,5,0)
end if

In this moment the motor controller look like was dead. When I power on, only Pwr led is on, USB and Stat are off always. I tried send firmware using USB but the motor controller isn't recognized. I don't receive any message, it is like the motor controller does not exist. I tried repair using rs232 port, but my system cannot find the motor controller.

Have I got some method to repair this motor controller ?

Hi, thank you for the quick response.

I've tried this method before to submit this question. This method has worked well with others MDC2230 motor controllers. Sometimes, I had to reset manually the motor controller in "waiting for device to reset" step.

This method does not appear to be working properly in this case.

Is there a way to repair it ? I did wrong, I know it. But I cannot believe that the motor controller are damaged permanently by this error.

Ok, I will examine possibilities.

I will make only one comment: The firmware could check the actual status of the motor controller before to apply a software command which can damage the motor controller. Possibly it would be complicated, I don't know it, but it will make a very substantial improvement.
