HBL2372 short(?) was created by sgds23
I have a HBL2372. Currently, phase wires are unconnected, but hall sensor wires from both channels are connected. I discovered I was getting a "Short" error (light on in Roborun) when I rotated motor on channel 2.
- Does the short logic even check the hall wires, or is this a side affect?
When I turn the short detection off ("-"), I instead get the "Undervoltage" error. This despite the fact that my Low voltage is set to 5V and Roborun shows my minimum voltage (on chart) at 52V.
Is there a simple explanation for this collection of issues -- a bad hall sensor? -- or do I have a faulty controller?

The HBL2372 requires a min of 26V to power on, and this can be either from the power control line or the vmot. If the power control is supplied with this min voltage or higher, the controller will turn on and any voltage can be supplied at Vmot.
The short detection should not be disabled. It definitely sees something wrong. Try swapping just the hall sensors.

I'm sorry, I wasn't at all clear. In the scenario I was describing:
- Nothing is connected to controller except a battery to Vmot and GND.
- Battery is supplying 55V.
- I used RoboRun to reset controller settings to default. This makes Low voltage limit = 5V, Upper voltage limit = 75V.
But seemingly contradictory result is:
- Undervoltage light is on and stays on
- Chart in Roborun shows voltage at a pretty steady 55V, with Min = 54.8V
Are you suggesting this is because I'm not using power control line (small yellow and black wires), or because Undervoltage flag is triggered by very short duration sags that don't show up on chart due to sampling?
SECOND, totally unrelated question: Is the HBL23xx plug compatible with the FBL23xx? Meaning are A, B, C and U, V, W defined identically, so that if I found working phase combination on FBL can I just move over to HBL? Or do I need to test all the phase/hall permutations again?

The Hall cable for FBL and HBL2360 are the same. So you should be able to transfer over.
