MDC2230 lost after downgrade (in dfu mode) was created by ScallogTeam
Hi,
We just acquired a mdc2230 controller who was actually in the firmware v15
we try to pass it in v14a by download it in DFU mode and that works but
now we can't communicate anymore with it in USB and in RS232 mode it blocks
after telling us "starting...".
On power on, The "stat" LED blinks fastly during one second and become continue. The pwr led stays on.
Is there a way to put it again in DFU mode or factory default mode ? Is there a jumper inside the PCB to force the dfu mode ?
Best regards

Depending on what the firmware file for the 1.4a you have, then it may be likely you will have to return the controller to be reflashed. More than likely you bricked the controller.
What is the exact name of the firmware file you used to update? Also please take a look at the bottom of the controller. There is a sticker, somewhere on there it should something like 2.1 or 3.2

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
There is "MD46 V3.2 1508" written on the sticker.
The firmware comes from here : dev.roboteq.com/dev1/index.php/forum/11-...nce-firmware-upgrade
Is there a jumper inside the PCB to force DFU mode and reflash the board ?
Once opened it, I see a 4 pins header near the encoder connector. Is there something like that (for the SDC) : dev.roboteq.com/dev1/index.php/forum/10-...ymore-after-updating ??
Thanks for your help.

You have the latest pcb version. I don't know which firmware file you used, but the new firmware files are now zbin and zdfu as there are 2 different firmwares for the pcb boards. The reason is that the newest version of the utility will know which controller version you are updating so it installs the correct file.
It may be possible to try to reflash via Serial using the method in link below, but it sounds like this controller will need to come back.
dev.roboteq.com/dev1/index.php/support/s...update-or-in-general
Regarding the jumper no. That was a very old design.
