MGS1600 No Signal vie RS232

Hi!
I'm using the MGS1600 and as long as I read the signal from the USB Port everything works great.

When I switch to the RS232-port all I recive is gibberish ("?w{o??w{o?" ...and so on).

Another issue I am facing, (that might be related): the dfu-Loader doesn't show any devices--> I can't update to the latest firmware(still runing:FID=Roboteq v1.0 MGS1600 04/24/2014)

A few days back I was able to recive data vie the RS232.
I checked the cable and it looks good.
I'm running Win 7 64 Bit
MagSensor Control Utility Rev 1.2 3.17.16
