MDC2460 - Motor does not spin was created by lmreia
Hello,
I have a 24V DC brushed motor that uses a 24V battery as power supply. I have tested two Roboteq controllers to control the motor in open loop mode: MDC2230 and MDC2460.
The MDC2230 works properly, but I have some problems with the MDC2460:
- When the motor is connected to the channel 1, it does not spin at all.
- When the motor is connected to the channel 2, it spins only in one direction.
Everything else seems to be working fine (Roborun can read the voltage of the power supply, the temperatures, etc). The controller is connected to a PC through an USB cable.
I do not know if the problem is with the configuration of the controller in Roborun, or with the power output stage of the controller (it may be malfunctioning).
Here is the Profile.xml file containing the settings used in the controller: pastebin.com/24mHf06A
Is there a way to solve this problem? I really appreciate any help you can provide.

thank you for providing the config file. I do not see anything abnormal in the configuration that may be causing the symptoms you report.
How long have you had this motor controller? Did it drive motors on both channels normally previously and then just recently begin to misbehave?
Which version of firmware is currently loaded to the controller?

I have had the controller for about 5 or 6 months, but I have not tested its power output stage until this week (I have never hooked up a motor to the MDC2460 before). As soon as I tried to drive a motor, the problems became apparent.
I have updated the firmware to the "MDC2xxx Firmware v.1.7, October 24, 2016" version.
Another thing that I have noticed is that the USB LED does not turn on when I connect the controller to a PC.
