HBL2360 motorcontroller short fault was created by van den Beld
Hi!
I am using the HBL2360 motorcontroller to drive two motors of 24V for a vehicle.
We connected a battery with 26V and it that worked.
Than we added batteries to increase the voltage to 50V.
Now the problem is that the short warning appears and the motor stops running from a motorcommand above 50.
So the motors will run very slow, but wen we add more throttle the cut off and stop running.
We don't know wat it is, because all the wires are nicely isolated, so they can't short.
Kind Regards,
Bart van den Beld

The short error is given when I turn both engines on and when I turn just one of them on.
It happens with a motorcommand around 70, depends on the PWM ratio and Amp limit of the motors.

Hi Blake,
We turned off the short ditection in Roborun. The motors are working at the moment, but the manual says that we shouldn't do that.
The question is does it matter? Is it dangerous or can we put a fuse on each fase of the engine?
Kind Regards,
Bart van den Beld

I do not have an explanation as to why you are seeing this erraneous short fault, this is not typical in this motor controller. Which version of firmware is currently on you controller? This can be seen by sending the command ?FID from the console tab in Roborun+

Hoi Bart,
Did you fix the probleem?
Please let us know what the problem was so we can all learn from it.
You wrote that you have 24V motors but connected the controller to 50V..Did you set the max voltage to 24 V to not blow up the motors?
