AX2500 problem was created by peter_tascar
My 2 wheel, 2 motor, remote controlled bot, has a problem. It goes forward and turns right and left ok, but if you try to reverse, only 1 wheel will reverse. This is set up for mixed steering, not tank steering.
Can I fix the problem with software or programming, or do you think it is an internal problem? Peter

The best way to accurately diagnose the controller is to reset it to defaut (press and hold prog & set, after power up or reset, until display flashes, then reset). Then exercise the controller using the PC utility. Pls try and let me know if you still see the problems

I did try to reset the controller to the original settings, the controller makes a buzzing noise (when holding prog & set) and then flashes a series of about 5 numbers continuously until reset. Also, an "8" appears in the display when trying to reverse. This did not correct the problem. I have not yet hooked it to the PC, but will try that next. Peter

<P style="MARGIN: 0px">The "8" typically signifies an under voltage condition. It may be that the controller and/or motor draw excessive current in that condition, causing the battery voltage to dip below 12V in that state.

This is a 24 volt system, with fully charged batteries. I ran the controller from the PC, and the same problem occurs. I get the "EStoP" message on the controller when pushing prog & set. Also put a multi meter on the motors. Motor 1 gets 24 volts in both forward and reverse. Motor 2 gets 24 volts in forward and 0 volts in reverse . I have reset the controller numerous times. Peter

I have reset it to it's default parameters. Hooked up to the PC utility, motor #1 reads 1 amp at 24.7 volts. Motor #2 reads 3 amps at 11.8 volts. When I run the motors directly from the utility, with the default parameters, the same thing happens. The one side does not reverse.
