Don't have Vista here but when I played with it in the past I noticed that if you right click on an executable you can set various computability modes for it like "Windows 98" or "Windows 2000"... You might try setting this with the setup.exe.

Though I have to say that this never worked for me when an application refused to install due to the OS version. So YMMV.

When I attempt to run the RoboConf software under Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit following a successful installation, Windows reports that the component 'Strips.ocx' or one of its dependencies is missing or invalid.

I'm having the same problem, install goes smoothly but roborun fails with an incorrectly registered component.

I tried installing roborun in xp compatibility, as well as modifying the executable for the same, but it still fails.

help?

I get an error that says appwiz.ocx failed to register. The rest of the install proceeds but the program will not run.

I think your best bet is going to be to reinstall the desktop software. First, do a clean uninstall, described here: KB02206. Then, re-install the software.
