Roborun over voltage limit resets to 35V

10 years 1 month ago #29527761 by rezophonic
I am trying to configure an MDC2250 controller to run in a voltage range between 37.7 (under voltage) and 42.5 volts (over voltage). It was able to do this before, but I updated the firmware on the board which somehow caused an error in the Roborun+ software, resulting in it losing its power configuration menu file (I can\'t recall the exact error).
I then reinstalled Roborun+ from the website which corrected that error, but now every time I enter a value above 35V it resets it to 35V. I cannot use this because my battery is currently outputting over 40V.
Thanks for any help.

Check the model type that is being reported by the controller in Roborun. What do you read in \"Controller Model\" in the upper right of the screen, left of the emergency stop button.

Read and report the controller version (1.1 or 2.1). There should be a sticker on the bottom of the controller.

It\'s currently reporting as a MDC2230 instead of a 2250, which would explain the problem. Also, the controller seems to be v1.1. How do I remedy the software\'s confusion?
Thanks.

For some reason the dfu loader on the PC fails to recognize the device. Could I possibly get the firmware as the binary for serial/COM port loading?
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks again.

If I can\'t get this in a serial binary file, can I possibly get some help troubleshooting why the device doesn\'t show up in the USB loader?

Attached is the firmware for update via com port.

To troubleshoot USB, after you clcked on Update Firmware via USB, the controller is reported lost, and the DFU loader is started.

Go to windows device manager and look for the unrecognized device. Right click on the icon and force driver installation. Browse to driver at C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Roboteq\\Roborun Plus\\DFU Driver

Thanks! That fixed that problem. I\'m still having the problem I was troubleshooting that led to all this, though: I cannot get a response out of Closed Loop Count Position mode. I can get Open Loop, Closed Loop Speed, and Closed Loop Relative Position to work, but Closed Loop Count Position would be best suited to the project. Any further help would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the help already.
