hi everyone,
until now i was using roborun on my win8 notebook which was working fine. since i want to use roborun and different kinds of visualization software on the same machine i installed the utility on a windows xp pro SP3 desktop machine.
installation was succesfull, but my computer won't recognize the MBL 1660 I'm using.
i tried to update the driver manually (i let windows look for a driver and added the roborun-folder to the search path), but that didn't work.
i also searched the forum but didn't find anything related.
does anyone have an idea on how to solve the problem? any help would be highly appreciated :)
thanks in advance,
felix

What connection type are you using, the RS232 or USB?
What is the message that comes up? If you open the device manager, is there a comport selected that has a yellow icon next to it? If there is one, and you open it up, are you able to select "Update drivers"?

hi,
thanks for the speedy reply!
i am using USB. the device manager says unknown device. yes, i am able to select update drivers if that is the dialogue where you can either let windows look for a driver update or provide an own source (i am using a german windows version, so i'm not 100% sure on this one). i think i also remember the yellow icon - if that is important beyond the 'being able to select "update drivers"' point i can double check tomorrow morning (CET) (had to leave the working place early today).

Another thing check is that when you plug the controller into the pc and power on, does windows display any type of message pop up like an error? Sometimes you'll get messages like USB not found or USB has malfunctioned.

the problem is solved: i was having issues with the usb-port i was using. after plugging the cable in a different port windows installed the driver automatically.
thanks for the great support!
