I have a MDC1230 that will no accept script updates every time.
to get the script to update i have to cycle the power then 1 in 5 times the script will download to the controller.
this is also the same for the configuration.
on the Roborun+ software new version there is a new indicator under the fault box on the run tab called 'DefConfig' which is red, i can find no documentation of the meaning of this indicator.
i have attached a image of the roborun+ with the indicator

The def config just means that the controller was reset to default factory configuration. This flag should clear if a setting changes. It isn't a fault that should cause issues.
There is a script restart button at the very top of Roborun. This will restart the script.
If the script is not downloading to controller, then try stopping the script and making sure the motors are not moving when downloading to script. If this happens with the USB, then try rs232.

thanks
the defconfig makes sense....except it never changes so it could be an indication of the other fault we are experiencing.
we are using rs232 on our controllers as the USB is unreliable in our implementation of the controller
we have tried USB but this has the same result, i.e. the controller must be reset and then only one script download can take place.
do you think reflashing the firmware would help, we are on the latest firmware.

You can certainly try. A reflash of the firmware will cause the controller to clear your configuration.
