Roborun install on Win7 and Win10

I realize there are issues with Windows 10. I read the earlier post and downloaded to most recent Roborun+ from your website. However the driver will not install successfully. I have followed the instructions for the Win8 driver install (disabling driver signing requirement) with no luck. Reborun itself seems to install ok, but the driver doesn't.

So, after failing to get it to run on Windows 10 I tried to install on a WIn7 machine. Now it fails during install with the error shown in the attachment. "Strip.ocx failed to register".

What do I need to do to get it to work? What is the plan/solution for Win10?

No response? I was able to get things to work on my Win10 machine, however I am still unable to install on Win7.

Not sure if the attachment worked, so here is the message I get when I attempt to install:

Module C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Strip.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147024703
Contact your support personnel.

This window gives me the options: "Exit installation" "Try Again" "Continue"

If I select continue, it tells me Roborun was installed successfully. Then when I try to run Roborun, I get and "Unhandled exception Occurred" error (Below).

"An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)

Hi,

We apologise for the late reply.

Drivers do work on both win7 and win10, and we have not faced any issues apart from the following:

Issues with win8 and later where you could not install unsigned drivers manually. So we have special documentation in that, which you can find in our website (dev.roboteq.com/dev1/index.php/docman/mo...-and-81-drivers/file)

We had another issue in win10 where the device could not be connected to utility via usb. This can be solved with latest utility you will find in our site as well (release datat 10th of October).

Concerning your case I would suggest to uninstall everything and if possible remove the any relevant regisrty keys. Then try to re-install.

They are simple usb drivers and should work.

So I un-installed Roborun and cleared out my registry. Rebooted Windows and re-installed Roborun. Same result. What are the dependencies of Roborun? What .Net version? Does it require a specific version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable?

Hello again,

The dependencies are the following:
- .Net framework 2.0.
- .Net framework 3.5.

Now since you still face problem with Strip.ocx please follow the following steps:
- Extract the attached .rar file (rename .ra_ into .rar).
- Copy strip.ocx file to C:\windows\system32 directory.
- Run cmd as administrator.
- In the command prompt window navigate to the system32 folder:
cd c:\windows\system32
- Register the ocx:
regsvr32 /i strip.ocx
- Try run the application.

I am having the same issues that ASI had and I cannot open RoboRun+.
Do you have any other suggestions for running the software on Windows 10?
The program worked two days ago, but now it gives an error message whenever I try to open it.

Yes we have a fix for this error. It requires a specific .ocx file, if you contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I can send you the fix.
