How do I configure BRAKES, I have invacare wheelchair motors was created by steve0
Can I leave them open by applying constant voltage to them or do I have to physically remove the brake system? Thanks in advance.

I'd remove them unless your vehicle weighs several hundred pounds. If these are gear motors, chances are that it takes a lot of torque to spin them and unless you're on a steep hill you won't have to worry about it. I'd bet that solenoid brakes are there for liability reasons more than practical ones.

Ok thanks for such a quick response. It is small weight, but I dread making mechanical modifications. If this doesn't work I will let you know and ask you how I can keep the brakes "open"?(with voltage applied to their pins?) Arrgggh. Thanks.

you could just remove the phenolic brake discs if you don't mind carrying around the extra weight of the brake coils. I'd rather remove them personally. Would like to see that mower your building.

Hee hee...that's pretty damn cool. Now you need to rig up differential GPS so a PC can mow the lawn for you.

What? How could I do that? Does GPS have enough resolution to determine that the bot has traveresed 22inches in spot x but still needs to traverse over a separate 2 inch swath of grass adjacent to the first swath of grass?
