I\'m attempting to use your AX3100S for analog open loop speed control a single 12V series wound motor as part of an oceanographic winch.
The motor has three lugs: ground, F1 and F2. Applying voltage to either F1 or F2 will run the motor in one or the other direction.
Is there any way to configure the AX3100S so that when operating in the forward direction, Mot- is left floating and when operating in the reverse direction, Mot+ is floating?
If not, can I isolate Mot+ or Mot- from F1 and F2 with solenoids?
Could I connect Mot- to the motor\'s ground, and use a SPDT relay to connect Mot+ to either F1 or F2?

The outputs cannot be made to float. But you could use a mechanical relay.

I\'ll try hooking Mot- to the motor ground, and using a DPST relay to control which post Mot+ is attached to.

I\'ve got the outputs hooked up through large relays to my series wound motor with the relays providing direction control. When I press a button (up or down) to move the winch, button, either the UP or DOWN relay closes and analog input 1 (pin 11) goes from floating to having a voltage of greater than 2.5v applied.
In the roborun utility, I can see analog input 1 go from 0 to 36 (3.6v?) when I press a button but the winch never moves or even draws any power. I have the current limit set to 120 amps and my motor draws a peak of about 105 amps.
If I switch to RS232 mode, I can get the winch to move with the software if I quickly close the relay after issuing the run command. If I wait, the motor will either not move, or move very slowly. Sometimes even this doesn\'t work, and I need to cycle the power to the 3100S to get it to work again.
Any ideas?
