Dangers to merge two outputs was created by infoa
Hi,
I need control one wired with two diferents controllers (SDC2130). I need use the configuration showed in the attached image. I\'ve tried it and it works...
When A.Output1 is ON or B.Output1 is ON, the line have 0 volts. When A.Output1 is OFF or B.Output1 is OFF, the line have 11 volts.
...but I\'m not sure that in the future will not have problems.
May I have problems?
Thanks

Are these controllers basically trying to act in sync with each other?
If so, have you tried using like an analog input feed where you tie gnds to the gnd of each controller, the wiper to both the analog input of choice to each controller, and set the analog input as motor command.
The +5V will still need to be used from one of the controllers db15 connector.

Hi Griffin,
Thanks for you reply. I don´t want act in sync with each other controllers.
- Each controller has its six inputs busy ( I haven´t more inputs)
- I want to communicate a state between both controllers.
I\'m using a multiplexer (MAX4518ESD) to switch inputs, and I want to use that common signal.
Could I have electric problems ? Outputs could be damaged ?
Thanks

You cannot wire the two outputs that way because when an output is at 0, it is not floating. It is actually pulled to ground.
So if it is connected to another output and that output is pulled to the battery voltage, there will be a short.
