Power supply capacitator was created by infoa
I'm using sdc2130. I use a 5m cable to power the controller (24V). This wired have 4 poles, 2 poles for 24V and 2 poles for gnd. Each pole is AWG 18 and they are twisted 24/0 24/0. I would like use a capacitor near of the controller. This capacitator must be 5000uF/50V at least. What are the other interesting parameters for this capacitator?:
- Current Ripple? 4.5 is enough
- ESR must be small
Do you have any tips for me?
Thanks

You may want to refer to page 28 of the user manual for more information on this.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
Page 28 of the user manual only says that a capacitor 10.000uF or higher must be used. It says nothing about the voltage or ripple current of this capacitor. I would like to know more about the best features for this capacitor. Can you tell me something about ? Thanks.

You'll want the voltage of the capacitor to be rated the same as what is already installed on the controller. There will be very little ripple voltage.
Also, a capacitor with low ESR is recommended. So the lower the better.
