HDC2450 Digital output current? was created by LROBBINS
Roboteq's literature, for example in Table 8 of the spec sheet, says:
(1) What additional devices are present to provide 1 Amp (or as said elsewhere in your literature "more than 1 Amp") capacity?
(2) What clamping is provided on those outputs?
(3) What form of over-current protection is present?
I had designed with your 1Amp in mind, but am wondering whether I'm not over stressing things on some of my douts. I have 7 in use. Of these, four are mutually-exclusive with <70 mA drain, but they are relays with built-in snubber resistors of unknown value, 2 are electromagnetic brakes with an inductive load of about 1/2A each (with TVS clamping), and one is a high-current relay with about 170 mA drain including a snubber resistor. Am I operating in a safe zone?
Thanks for you help,
Lenny Robbins
Yet, looking at the board I see an STM L9826 octal low-side driver that is rated for 450 mA/per channel load, with an absolute maximum rating for transient pulses of 1 Amp, a Total average-current for all outputs of 2A and short-circuit protection at 1.1A. Hence, I have several questions:Digital Output Current Output pins, sink current 1 (2) Amps

The driver is an L9825. The specs are copied from the datasheet

Ouch. I looked at the chip and saw 9825, but my finger typed a "6", which gave me the wrong spec sheet. I feel very relieved that it's the L9825.
Thanks for the quick reply.
