Issue with HBL1650

Issue with HBL1650 was created by dd
We use two HBL 1650 for driving 2 brushless motors with 3.5 kW and 48 V using Linux and ROS.
So generally the HBL 1650 should be able to deal with that motor (when I read the data sheet right).
But as usual it just worked for some time until one of the motor controlers stopped working (the second one is stil ok)
Something poped inside. Since then I am stil able to connect to the motorcontroller, but no output could be generated (see image attached). Also Under Volt bit ist set.
Is there any hope to fix this device? What could be the reason for such a failure?
How could I be shure that a new motorcontroller will not blow up like the first one?

Hello David,

We can only think of having the hall sensors on the motors misaligned. Please check if this is happening with the attached document.

If this happens most probably the board is broken. You can contact with our sales department in order to see if you are under warranty, of if you wish it to be repaired.

The motor and the hall sensors are fine. I checked them with the other motorcontroller. There it work perfekt. But while testing it, I found out that one of the cables to the hall connectors was broken.
could this be the reason for the defect? But how this could kill the motorcontroller?

It is difficult to say. Normally, no damage should occur. However, if the floating wire picks up noise, it may make the transistors switch in a manner that would cause stress.
