Motor with case ground

Hi

I have a gear motor I would like to drive which operates with its case connected to supply -ve and two pins for +ve connection, one for each direction. Can I just connect to normal motor output and outputs going high will change motor direction with the case connected to -ve? Couldn’t find this dealt with in the forums.

Using SDC 2160 controller?
Thanks

Hey Joe, Sorry for the delayed response. I am actually not quite sure what you are asking here. Current has to flow from an M+ terminal, through the motor, to an M- terminal for it to spin in a dc brushed motor. I would also not recommend connecting the case to the power supply ground - it should be separated by at least a diode.
