Player/Stage Driver ?

Has anyone written a player/stage driver for the Roboteq controller? Player/Stage is an open robot control scheme developed by USC and others, and used at universities. It would be really useful thing to have for robotics researchers since the standard drivers are for complete robots which are quite expensive. A small school could build a robot around a Roboteq controller, and jump right into robotics research.
