Output C

I would like to use the Output C to release the spring applied motor brakes. It has sufficient power and will let me eliminate an additional relay board. I need to release the brake before or at the same time Outputs A and B begin sending voltage out to the motors. The default setting does not trigger C until full motion of the joystick. I am using a 9 channel Futaba PCM radio so I have a relatively precise signal.
Can I change the trigger point on C?

Output C is designed to activate accessories. The joystick threshold for Output C is fixed and is set to be high deliberately to prevent accidental release. There is also an hysteresis built in so that once turned on, you would have to move further down to turn it off.
For your application, you may consider placing the relay on the motor leads. Once some voltage appears on the motor, the relay would activate and release the brakes. The only problem with this solution, other than the extra cost, is that you would need to find a relay that will switch on at a relatively low voltage, yet withstand up to 24 or 36V when motors are at full speed.
