AX2550 Coasting & Reverse current detection

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to enable the AX2550 to permit coasting. In other words, can the motor controller 'disconnect' the motors?

Also, the manual suggest that the AX2550 has a current sensor that is capable of detecting reverse current (i.e. regeneration). Is there anyway to access and read this sensor?

Thank you,

The AX2550 does not allow coasting.

The negative current is sensed inside the controller and is used to limit the regen current by "releasing" the braking if current approaches dangerous level. The negative current cannot be read from the outside. Note that negative current normally does not last long in typical applications.

Suppose you were to hook up the motors through relays which would be controlled by Output C? So when you let off on the throttle, the relays would open and there would be no back EMF.
