coast when idle

coast when idle was created by sceptre15
I am using the ax2550 to power 2 linear actuators. The actuators are self locking, meaning when I remove power from them, they hold their position. The manual says that the "coast when idle" function is not implemented. I really need this functionality or I risk burning up the actuator motors. Does anyone know (roboteq staff) if this function has been implemented in new firmware, or if not, when it will be? Thanks all.

That functionality is still not implemented. However, this would not make any difference in your case because as the position is reached (when the controller is configured in position mode), then the voltage at the actuator does drop to 0V. This 0V is a "solid 0", like as 0V battery would be. I.e. the leads of your actuator are shorted to one another.
