Hi, we are a robotics club from E.C Drury High School in Milton, Ontario. We are contemplating of possibly buying the AX500 controller, but we do have some questions.
1. Can this robot be controlled remotely via a Network. (Joystick -> Computer ->Wireless Network -> Computer -> Controller -> Motor) The robot will still be in motion while sending commands. If this is possible how will we do this?
2. Is there a way to disable the TX Portion to preventing the controller from sending back information, since it is disallowed in our competition we are working.
3. How would we create an remote e-stop (physcial, and button on computer) to stop the robot's dead in its tracks.
I'll think of more questions, as soon as these are answered
Thanks, Cheers!
Any Help will be appreciated, you may contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Part of the PC software utility is a small program that runs on a PC on the robot and which allows communication via Internet (wired or wireless) to the controlling PC.
You may ignore the controller's Tx data simply by not connecting the wire.
For emergency stop, there is no direct way to do this, but if communication is lost while the rs232 watchdog is enabled on the controller, the motors will be stopped 1s after the last code is received.
