- We test AX2850 to control DC motor. All test is perfect using incremental shaft encoder. This unit work from week ago with out any problem.
<DIV> -today we use AX2850 serial No: 5700 Bilud 607 PCb 6.1 PLD <A href="6002007.to/" target=_blank target=_blank>6002007.to drive similar platform, it wasn't operate. The 1st problem is the identification using hyper terminal is not stable. We rpt many time ON-Off then it will be recognized, another problem we sense shaft encoder in one direction while it is not sensing in another direction.Speed control is operate in one direction while it couldn't coz no sense for shaft encoder. This test is projected for both channel with the same profile

Use Roborun to do the tests. Go to the encoder tab &amp; click on Run (it is best to set the controller in open loop).

Verify that all red box pairs are blinking as you rotate the shafts and that you see the count value change as it should.

I just recently connected encoders to my encoder module, but it seems I have done something wrong.

Can someone tell me what I could possibly be doing wrong if on the encoder tab of RoboRun, my Encoder 1 Status behaves sporatically, Encoder 2 Status does not respond at all, and when I use Run and the Motor Command sliders, there is no response by the motors.

I am able to use the Run and Console tab just fine, as well as run my motors via the hyperterminal. Any advice one what to check? Is it most likely that my encoders are simply wired incorrectly to the RJ-45 jack?

Make sure you use the latest version of roborun. Download from <A href="dev.roboteq.com/dev1/doclink.html" target=_blank>www.roboteq.com/doclink.html

From the Run tab. Click on run and verify that you see the boxes labeled Switch 1 and Switch 2 changing as you spin each motor.

See also if the counter increments/decrements.

If the Switch boxes do not change, or if one one of the two changes, then there is a wiring problem.
