i build scale working rc bulldozers.my latest is powered by 2 wheelchair motors, each rarely pulling more than 40a.i power the motors with a gas/electric generator using a servo/voltage governor that keeps voltage around 24 volts no matter load or generator heat.im using a vantec 33 and it works fine but i want closed loop to better control my speed on hills, various loads and to go straight.what model roboteq could i get?will it work with the \"dirty\" voltage from my generator?(i have batteries in paralell)the 3500 looks about right but it seems flimsy compared to my rdfr33,but the 33 is 10 years old and everything is getting smaller these days!if you want,my dozer is on youtube at rcd11n, thanks,ed

The AX3500 will handle the current but if you want to play it even safer, consider the AX2550.

ok,another question is if i use a small dc motor as a tach, wont its current output be affected by temp.?im not familiar with an encoder, but if thats the best solution i can learn!

Encoders are a much better solution

You could use a small motor as tachometer. The voltage output will not vary with temperature.

i think ill try the 2550 because i like to overbuild everything, sometimes this dozer runs at full duty for hours and hours in hot weather.does the controllers mofsets work the same as the vantec?my generators electronic governor operates off of the voltage reflected from the motors at anything below 100 percent throttle and ive had to do alot of tuning to get smooth operation.
