Resistors/current limiting at the Vcc of the incremental encoder

Hi i am still new in using encoders. I have an incremental encoder that I would like to use with my SDC2150 controller

here is the data sheet of the encoder:
ph.element14.com/bourns/ems22q51-d28-lt4...cremental/dp/1774828

here is my question: in the data sheet it is written that the max current that the encoder can take is at 20mA. Do i have to have some sort of current limiting resistor attached to the vcc to the encoder? btw the 5v Vcc would come from the 5v output of the SDC controller.

Any help is appreciated.

YOu can connect it directly to the controller\'s output.

The encoder will draw no more than 20mA, which is fine.
