Controller not detected by the Computer MDC 2460. was created by venuvv1
I tried to connect the MDC 2460 controller to the laptop using the cable for HDC/HBL controller. The device is not at all detected by the computer. Is this because of the cable not the right one ? Please advice.

Did you power on the controller? If you are referencing using the RS1 black cable from the RS1-25 cable for HDC and HBL controllers it is the right cable.
This cable plugs into the serial of the pc. Make sure that when the controller is powered on that your device manager sees it as a listed item or comport.
The USB nor Serial lines do not supply power to the controller, so the controller will need to be provided with power via a battery to the controller in order for our utility or other comm programs can see the controller.

You can use 12V to power on the controller. The controller is rated for a max of 60A per channel. If you try to draw more than 60A, the controller will limit the output to a max of 60A per channel. It has a continuous output of 50A since the 60A draw is only for a short period of time between 30S to 1 minute. Basically a motor start up current.
