Only connecting a XDC2230 by usb

Only connecting a XDC2230 by usb was created by vincent1971
I bought a new XDC2230. I connected only by an usb connector. I don't see any led's turned on. Is that normal or must I also connecting the power to see something?

You must apply power to big red and black wires, or the thin black and yellow wires.
