Hello,

We have submitted a response to you via email.

Just looking at the damage, it looks like it could have been caused by motor regeneration. Did your application have the protection circuit as shown in the datasheet and user manual with the diode + fuse in parallel to the vmot line and battery?

Thanks,

I have received it and replied.

I have connected it directly to the battery as shown in the datasheet but not as the protection circuit.

If the battery gets cut off from the controller while the motor is still spinning, then the motor will regenerate voltage and current back into the controller. If it doesn't have anywhere to go, it will feedback directly into the controller causing damage similar to what you have there.

If you are not using the pre-charge resistor, just make sure to extend the diode to the vmot line as the flow would go back to the battery causing the battery to recharge.

Voltage spikes will damage the Fet drivers which will in turn cause the fets to blow.

sorry but do you have an image, diagram or chart that can explain it more, I didn't get it.

Your controller has to be fixed. This is only for protecting before damage can occur.

Once the controller is damaged, this circuit protection isn't going to solve anything.
