Greetings..!!
Is it possible to use a HALL SENSOR to control speed of a BRUSHED DC MOTOR via MDC2230?
If yes, will it be possible to reverse the motor direction with the speed control?
I would be grateful if I could get any useful documents/ links/ suggestions for this type of applications.
Best Regards,
Milan

If there 2 sensors and they produce a quadrature signal, then it
should be possible to measure speed and know the direction, and so closed
loop speed mode is possible.
If there is only one pulse, it will be possible to measure speed but
it will not be possible to know in which direction the motor is
turning. The firmware cannot operate with only one sensor per motor.
But through Microbasic scripting, it should be possible to write a
small program for doing closed loop speed control.

Thanks for the Reply,
Regarding MicroBasic,
Do I have to write a complete close loop speed control algorithm for that
OR
I just need to code ONLY for sensing the speed and pass it to a INBUILT closed loop speed control function (If exist)?
Further, Yes It won't be possible to control the speed in both direction.
But, Is there any possibility to write a script which can reverse the direction after completely STOPPING the motor(Only If direction CHANGE is requested)?

You will need to write a small PID (a PI is usually sufficient). This is quite simple and we have examples you could adapt.

I would be grateful if you could send me related MicroBasic examples (or Link) for this type of applications.
