SBL1360 random Motor stall was created by kitepowersolutions
I have a SBL1360 controller driving a maxon EC-4pole brushless motor with a brake, I use RC via PWM for control input and a potentiometer for feedback. In my application the motor releases brake moves to a position in closed loop position tracking mode then switches to speed mode to allow the brake to come back on. This all works well except that the motor on occasion dose not restart (generally in a no load state) and the stall condition is indicated , I have found that this can be resolved by manually applying a bit of torque to the motor, or by doing a controller reset.
This bug occurs on average once in 30mins, and with much testing I cannot determine any obvious trigger for it.
In my application the unit is remote and is required to be active 100% of the time so doing live resets which take approx 2 secs is not a option.

Did you disable the loop error detection?

What is the stall detection error set to? have you tried changing that value, let alone disabling it?

I don't actually believe that it the stall error that's stopping it moving; I believe that it comes on as a consequence of it not moving. My only theory is that the hall sensors might occasionally stop in a difficult position for the motor to restart!

Are the hall sensors 120 degrees out of phase? It would seem not normal for this to occur.
What about setting controller into open loop mode waiting 1 second or so and then changing back to closed loop mode?

OK I will give that a try, it would be a improvement on the 2 seconds it takes to do a controller reset!
Is there any chance the the controller might crash or have an internal error which could cause this; I am still running the original firmware!
