Simple HMI

Hi, Has anyone implemented a HMI with a roboteq controller. I am after something simple and not too expensive, really only needs a couple of lines of text and maybe a couple of buttons. Initially for diagnostic use but may be later used for operator input of parameters. I am assuming serial or usb comms with controller, would appreciate anyones experience. Thanks.
