USB Not Working

USB Not Working was created by djyelee
I have been using USB for communication with SDC2130 for a long time without any issues. However, it just happened now that the COM port (through USB) disappeared and it showed as STM32 DFU under Other Devices in Windows 7 device manager. Any idea how to get it back?

Here is more detail information.

I have been controlling SDC2130 from Windows 7 64-bit PC through USB for several months without any problems. Today, it lost the USB connection and the COM port for the device disappeared. Instead of the COM port, it showed up as STM32 DFU in Device Manager. I downloaded the latest RobotRun (released in October, 2015) and the latest firmware (SDC21XX-Firmware-Update-v15-100115.zdfu). I used DFULoader to successfully upgrade to the new firmware. After that, the STM32 DFU disappeared and changed to "UnKnown Device" in the Device Manager. The PC is now unable to connect to the device.

Any ideas how to recover from this problem? Please help. Thanks.

One thing to try, just in case the problem lies in your PC rather than the Roboteq. With the Roboteq disconnected, completely shut down the PC and then do a cold re-start. This will force Windows to do a fresh look at its driver store when you next connect the controller. Ciao, Lenny

I did reboot the computer a couple of times but it still showed "Unknown Device".

Hello,

What is the status LED pattern? Can you connect via RS232?

LED seems to be indicating idle (half time in and half time off). I tried RS232 and it worked. However, I have four devices in my system. USB is probably easier than RS232. Is there a way to get the USB mode back? The other board is just stuck in the DFU mode doesn't matter how many times I update the firmware.

Since this happens only to one controller (so there is no problem with your PC), from your description I can tell that there is a hardware problem, with USB broken.
