Snubber circuit for motor

7 years 12 hours ago #29532393 by cory944
Dear Roboteq technical suppport,

I want to add snubber circuits to my 48v bldc motor which is connected to my fbl2360 controller. Do I need to connect one end of the circuit to a motor's phase and the other end of the circuit to battery minus? Does the circuit need to be as close to the motor as possible?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Victor.

Hello Victor,

Our motor controllers already have an in internal snubber circuit on on each phase line for each motor channel so I don't think you necessarily need to add some externally. If you still wish to do so then yes you would connect one end of the circuit to the motors phase and the other end to battery minus (GND).
