Hello,

I have a SDC2130 and want to be able to stop the motor using the fastest way possible. I was looking around the manual and I want to know how Dead Man Switch and Safety Stop works.

I'm using a closed loop control.

If I set the command velocity to 0 or if I enable Dead Man Switch the resulting plots for velocity looks the same. One example using dead man switch and other setting velocity to 0 are shown below. Unfortunately I'm not at the lab right now so these are the only images I got with me.

Deadman Switch stops the motor(s) when the switch/condition is active but then resumes the same motor command as soon as the switch/condition is released.

Safety stop stops the motor(s) and the safety stop condition cannot be cleared until the motor command is brought back to zero.
