Compatibility of AX2550 with a 2.4GHz digital receiver

I have an 11-year old AX2550 motor controller (serial number 5513) which I want to control the motors my robot and control the flipper weapon. I am going to buy a new 2.4GHz RC transmitter and receiver for the system and want to know if the output from the receiver will be compatible with the AX2550. The software on the motor controller has not be updated from new in 2005/6. Should I upgrade it?

The AX2550 is controller that we discontinued several years ago and that we no longer service. I have attached the old manual for this controller but that is about all we have to offer. The modern replacement would be our XDC2460 motor controller. I would recommend getting a newer controller that we could guarantee would work with any RC transmitter/receiver.

Thank you for your speedy reply. I have already downloaded and printed off the AX2550 user manual. I invested a considerable amount of money in this motor controller 11 years ago and don't want to throw it away unused. I still hope that you might be able to tell me whether the output from a modern 2.4GHz receiver is compatible with that motor controller. The answer could be 'Yes' or 'Not Ever' or 'Look at page 150 in the manual'.
