I am a newbie working on a project and just received the SDC2160. I was wondering if before my group connects it to the motors and everything if I could connect power to it using this-> www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GD4ZQRS/ref...00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 so that I then can connect it to my computer.

Yes, that will power the motor. However, we do not reccomend connecting the motor using an AC adapter without an earth ground. If you have a bench power supply or a battery that would be a better power source for your tests.
