Activating amps trigger was created by msacarny
I do not seem to be able to get Amps Trigger to activate on our MBL1660A driving a BLDC motor. I set the Amps Trigger lower than Amps Limit with Amps Trigger Delay of 50 mS and action of Safety Stop and can drive the load until Amps Limit is reached, but no sign of Amps Trgger getting tripped. Is there any other setting that could prevent this from triggering?

The easiest way for me to trouble shoot this is going to be to try to replicate this issue on my end. Go ahead and post your configuration file as well as the version of firmware you are using and I will test and see what is going on.

I finally returned to this issue and confirmed that I still cannot get Amp Triggering to trip a safety stop although current is well above the limit..
Attached is my configuration file. Firmware is Roboteq v1.8d MBL 1XXXA 1/8/2018.
While running the motor, we use closed loop count position mode.

That might be set too low, the fact that you are able to do it in this firmware may be a bug, I'll have to check.
Why are you trying to throw a safety stop at 5A?

In production, the level will be more like 16 A. I used 5 A to simplify testing, as it appeared to be a legitimate value. I shall retest at 15 A while awaiting your results in reproducing the issue.
Thank you!

I set the Amps trigger level to 11 A, 50 mS, safety stop, and then applied a load of 12+ A. Still no trigger reaction.
Thanks,
Mike

No, so far the AMPS trigger trips, and set's a safety stop. Do you think you could post a log of what is going on that includes the motor amps and the motor command?

I used !P commands to drive the winch up and down, while Amps Trigger was set to 8 amps, 50 ms delay, and safety stop.
Log and configuration files are attached. I never see the safety stop even though motor current is above 10 amps for several seconds.
Note: All of this is in Closed Loop Count Position
Attached: profile, script, console log, recording of time series
