Firmware recovering

Hello,

I decided to upgrade the firmware of a SDC2160 controller, but I mess up with the file name and installed a wrong firmware (of the FBL series). Now the controller does not show up on the Roborun+ utility. The option for upgrading the firmware via COM port is the only one activated on Robotun+ utility but no port is detected or allowed to be manually selected. Is there a way to recover from this situation?

Hi,
Try to connect controller by rs-232.
Select serial port manually in roborun+.
Try to upload correct firmware.

Thanks for the suggestion. I used a USB-Serial adapter to connect to the serial pins of the SDC2160 (Tx, Rx, GND) and obtained the following from Roborun+:

Controller found on port COM21
Resetting the controller ... done
Waiting for device to restart ... error
Device starting string not detected

I solved the problem with a little trick. When Roborun is waiting for the controller to restart (green progress bar evolving) I turn off the power and turn on again. At this point Roborun noticed the restart and the firmware upgrading completed successfully. Now the controller is back to life.
