Wifi setup? was created by happytriger2000
Hi,
I managed to control my robot within the local area in the workshop, but what if I want to control the robot from my home through internet then to the robot?
How do I set it up?
The computer on the robot is currently powered on with Roboserver running, and I want to control the robot from where I am now (My room, 2KM away from the workshop), the ip adress appeared on the robot side is: 192.168.1.100, what do I need to do?
thanks,
Freddy

Your problem is probably because your robot and pc are not on the same network. One is on your local lan, the other on the internet. Look on the internet for tips on how to get the two to see each other. Typically, this requires changing the setting in your DSL/WiFi box.

Ok, I know this topic has been a while, so has anyone figured out how to remotely control your robot from miles away through internet?
I think I found a solution... TeamViewer!. Install Teamviewr on both computer, and open skype of the Robot PC.

Sorry no Skype, just Teamviewer, when using this method the Joystick cannot be used, so you have to control the motors in Roborun's slider.

As far as connecting to your local LAN from the Internet... You could use port-forwarding on your Internet router. The other part would be up to your application to communicate with the IP address on that LAN. This would mean that you would need a joystick on the laptop/computer that is on the Internet.
