Please see our article on this topic HERE . Frankly the article is a bit dated and the controller used in this example is obsolete, but the principal and instructions still, for the most part, remain the same.

I've followed all the steps and established communication. this step is confusing me :
Remote controlling the motors
- Launch the Roborun software on the operator PC.
- Change COM/LAN port. Select LAN and enter robot's IP address. The upper right of the Roborun screen will indicate if connected or disconnected.
- Click on "Run" tab. Click on Run button.
Question: How or where do you do this step?

An older version of Roborun used to support connections to other Roborun instances over a TCP connection. This is no longer the case in Roborun+, which only support connections to our controllers over Serial.

Instead of connecting to Roborun remotely, we are currently working on adding ethernet support to our controllers. But for now, there is no where in Roborun+ (rev. 1.8) to configure any form of IP address.

Sorry for the confusion!

I’m toying with the idea that connecting through TC/IP address gives the robot wider range- frim anywhere with internet cinnection using mobile hotspot with 3G/4/G signals.

I can try to dig it up when I am in the office. However, it will not be able to connect to the SDC2130 since that controller was released after support for the old version of Roborun (new version is Roborun+) had ceased.

The old version of Roborun also only ran on windows, so you would need to have a windows machine on your robot. If you have a windows machine on your robot, the easiest recommended solution is to use a VNC software to remote into the machine and run Roborun+.
