R/C controlling a motor while using encoder. was created by ccsgtech
Hi,
I need to limit the movement of a motor with a quadrature encoder. The motor is controlled with a r/c remote. I know how to control the motor with an r/c remote with script but i am not sure where to start in closed loop.
Here are my worst issues:
1. Do i need to setup the closed loop settings in the config tab of roborun or do i need to script it all?
2. What command statement is the best to control the speed of rotation of the motor while in closed loop with an r/c remote?
Thank you for the help,
Carl

Hey sorry for the late response, this post kind of slipped through the cracks.
You should be able to set up the closed loop settings in the configruation tab of Roborun+. In Closed Loop Speed mode, you give the controller desired speed commands with the !G command. You can also set the speed for profile moves and trajectories in various closed loop position modes using the !S command.

Here is a vidéo: drive.google.com/file/d/11d_G59aWdAmSD_2...2ZO/view?usp=sharing.
It show the encoder settings and the motor settings.

I cannot get the motor to do anything else than a half turn while moving the slider and then when i move the slider to the center, the motor moves a few turns in opposite direction gradually slowing down to a stop.
Is there a way i can get feedback from the quadrature encoder without using closed loop mode?
Thank you,

Hmm, go a head and send me your configuration files. I will test when I get a chance, but I am going to be away from my workbench for about a week so it might take me a while.
