Use the Roborun PC utility to diagnose and test.
Verify that you can get communication with the controller
Click on the Run tab and then on the run button. Use the sliders to run the motors, verify that the battery voltage is >12V.

Hi cosma,
following on the post, as of now we have the motors running when connecting the controller directly to a computer and using a USB joystick. However, we followed the instructions for the VIA remote control vehicle and probably we are missing something since we cannot have Roborun (v 1.9) to recognize the joystick and send the commands through a WLAN.
The configuration we are looking is:
Laptop (USB joystick)>Roborun>WLAN>Laptop>AX1500>DC motors
Right now we are running Roborun on the Laptop along with Roboserver and also Roboserver on the onboard laptop but nothing happens when we hit the run button and move the joystick.
thanks for your help.
Cesar

Would using RD software enable the joystick though?

Probably not, but you could see if the WLAN is working with manual control.

Change COM/LAN port in roborun that's running on the control laptop. Select LAN and enter robot's IP address. The upper right of the Roborun screen will indicate if connected or disconnected. It was the IP addr that gave me trouble. Then try to run the motors using the mouse and sliders before connecting the joystick. See if that works first.<BR>

Well, according to the instructions the setup should recognize the joystick but we cannot enable the checkbox in Roborun. We already tried having a joystick connected to the onboard laptop to see if it would recognize it but nop, nothing happens.
