Hi,

I am using the Roboteq AX500 in a small motion seat with good results so far.

However response and resolution are of upmost importance (especially during washout motions) and I\'ve noticed on this forum that you have a 4ms round time firmware in beta.

Can you please PM me a copy of such firmware or let me know where I can get hold of it?

I find that the controller is good or larger movements but often single step increments cannot be realized even after adjusting the PID settings.

If there are any other tips for increasing the precision of closed loop position mode they\'d be greatly appreciated. I\'m using the RS232 interface

Best Regards,

Matt Tighe

Faster loop may help reponse time but resolution is mostly limited by the analog converter\'s resolution, which is 256 steps over the full input range. We will try to make a 4ms avaiable for testing over the next couple of weeks.

Ok thank you, the finer PID loop will definitely help with the smoothness of washout movements and general platform frequency response.

Does the 16ms loop period apply in all modes of operation. Or are the simpler open loop modes handled differently?

Hi,

Is there any news on the 4ms beta firmware?

Most of my prototype is now complete including software using the standard controller so I\'m very eager to test if the 4ms update time makes a percievable differce to responsivness of the seat.

I\'m hoping that this will be a commerical product so if you\'d prefer we can speak over email?

My profile should be updated with my current address.

Best Regards

Matt
